In-Ground Fiberglass Pools
-
Pre-engineered fiberglass swimming pools are in-mold, handcrafted pools that arrive at your home ready to be installed in your yard. The fiberglass is created from millions of interwoven glass threads covered with a polyester resin. It’s an incredibly sturdy material that’s ideal for an in-ground pool for your Idaho or Washington home.
-
Installation of fiberglass pools is much faster that other pool types. Typically, Secoma Pools is able to complete excavation and construction in 3-4 weeks. Fiberglass pools are also easier to maintain and longer-lasting. Fiberglass pools can last up to 30 years without requiring resurfacing, and the pool shell is very durable ensuring you don’t need to remodel it except in the case of major damage.
Fiberglass Pool Shapes
-
As a certified Latham Pools builder, we offer a vast selection of custom fiberglass swimming pools.
Our most popular pool installations are rectangle fiberglass in-ground pools. Simple and straightforward or embellished with accessories, rectangle pools are the the optimal shape for a lap pool or for family fun.
We also offer free-form fiberglass pools, which incorporate dramatic curves for a modern look. Free-form pools can also maximize available swimming space with a more relaxed wavy design.
The Secoma Pools team will meet with you to discuss your options and help you select the right pool shape for your backyard.

In-Ground Fiberglass Pool Construction
-
We start each project with a detailed consultation and estimate. Over the course of a few meetings, we’ll help you select the pool shape, color and other features to design your dream backyard. We’ll begin construction once permits and materials are secured. We’ll spend the first few weeks on excavation and installing plumbing. In the following week or two, we’ll install your pool and necessary equipment. Then, we’ll complete the finishing touches, like landscaping and custom fencing.
-
The construction of your pool generally takes us about 3-4 weeks, depending on the scope of the project and weather. You will need to allow time before construction begins to secure permits (3-10 weeks in Idaho and 6-14 weeks in Washington) and materials (about 2 weeks).

How It Works
-
Schedule a Consult
Let us know about your project by completing our Request an Estimate form. We’ll follow up to schedule a time to come out to your property for a consultation. During this first meeting, we’ll discuss options for the design of your pool, including helping you select the shape and color of your new in-ground fiberglass pool.
-
Design & Planning
We’ll meet again to review the design and proposed timeline for the construction of your pool. Once you have approved the estimate, signed the contract and made a deposit for the materials, we’ll move forward on ordering your new pool. We’ll also provide you with the necessary plans for you to apply for your pool construction permit.
-
Excavation & Plumbing
With equipment and permits secured, we’ll begin the excavation and plumbing for your new pool. The excavation generally takes 3-5 days, and the plumbing can take about 2-3 days.

Pool Installation
Next, we’ll install your new fiberglass pool and necessary equipment, like heaters and pumps. We’ll also finalize the plumbing at this stage and pour the concrete around the pool. This stage of the process usually takes us about 1 week.
-
Finishing Touches
The Secoma Pools team will complete your backyard oasis with finishing touches, including tile, custom fencing, landscaping or pool house.

FAQs
-
Before we can begin work, you’ll need to get a pool construction permit which can take from 3-10 weeks in Idaho and 6-14 weeks in Washington, depending on your county and building site. We’ll also need to order your swimming pool shell, which generally takes about 2 weeks to ship to us. Once those two items are ready, we can start on your project.
-
We do not include the costs for permits in our initial estimate, since each county has different processes and fees. Permit fees range from $1,500 to $4,000 depending on whether a civil engineer is required or there is an unknown hazard. Hillside sites in the Boise area can cost up to $10,000 or more. Typical permit processing time in Idaho is 3-10 weeks, with a hillside permit requiring up to a year depending on the level of the hillside. Washington pool construction permits generally take 6-14 weeks depending on the county.
Homeowners are responsible for securing construction permits before we can begin construction. Secoma Pools will provide you with pool construction plans and other required information to support your permit application.
